The new Sony Bravia ambient advert

Fallon’s latest ad for Sony Bravia features an enormous zoetrope in Venaria, a town near Turin in northern Italy. The zoetrope has been causing a stir online for the last couple of months, with Sony posting films of it in action on YouTube while the ad was being created. The zoetrope presents a series of still images of the footballer Kaká, which when rotated (at speeds up to 50km per hour) and viewed through small slits on the outside of the zoetrope, give the illusion of being animated. posted by Gemma

After filling the tub with water, a fire can be started in the attached basket to kick start the heating process. The hot water starts to rise in the spiral, which automatically starts pouring in through the spiral, and begins circulating from the bottom to the top. The temperature is adjustable and to warm 700 liters of cold water the tub takes around two and a half hours. posted by Gemma

Not a commercial from a real bank (that would have been too much to ask), but still finance, and done well.
You would consider them in the class of "commercials with a mix of particle system animations and documentary style photography", like Sony did at first in their commercials. Never before was the Western Union portrayed with so much sympathy. posted by Markus
Joysticks and joypads, plugs, keyboards and routers, a shoe lost among cables, a pair of feet emerging behind an open laptop, videocassettes, websites and girls watching intensely at a computer screen. Miltos Manetas hands a thought-provoking mirror to the gadgets blogs, tech magazines and even new media art exhibitions. posted by Markus

Today we want to post some fashion related links. One of them is Swide, a new blog by Dolce and Gabbana (which we suppose they kind of want to hide from the audience). As the Design is from High-Res!, the agency which does the D&G online communication, and a lot of content is "accidentally" about D&G, you just have to put two and two together. At first, its layout makes it a bit unusable, but as you get used to it the content is quite amusing. We especially liked the wild fitness and the blueberry drinks sections.

We also want to draw your attention to MaoMag, a New York-based fashion magazine. You can browse their really special illustrations and photographs online, follow the link below.

Just when you thought iPods couldn’t get any smaller, designer Gopinath Prasana has came up with yet another eye-candy concept for an iPod called iBangle. With a huge possibility to be the next generation of the iPod family, his concept has transformed Apple’s iPod into a sleek thin aluminum bracelet. With an inflatable air chamber to adjust to different wrist sizes and wireless in-ear headphones, this little beauty can definitely be a big hit with the fashionably forward consumers around the world. But will consumers only consider this as a girl’s accessory? Does this have enough unisex appeal to it? Mind you, I can see Kanye West wearing this in 18k white gold with added 14k diamonds around it. posted by Rodrigo

And commercially speaking, they definitely have means to create a ‘wow’ factor for any event, exhibition or building opening or even a product launch. They specialise in 3D-Mapping Video Projection which is a much more evolved way of projecting a piece of information on a massive surface or architecural structure. Compared to the usual projection of static images we’ve seen around…
